Wimbledon tickets news: Andy Murray admits he must cope with knee injury

25/05/2010

Andy Murray has suggested he is prepared to dig deep and play through injury when he appears in front of fans with Wimbledon tickets next month.

With the SW19 tournament just around the corner, the world number four will have been hoping for an easy ride in his first-round encounter with Richard Gasquet at the French Open.

Instead, the Scot was forced to battle back from two sets down in a marathon four-hour match that he eventually won 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.

Both players struggled with knee injuries throughout the clash, something which Murray has admitted could reoccur at any time, including when he takes to the court in front of fans with Wimbledon tickets.

"It hurts at different parts of the year. I can't do anything about it," the British number one explained. "It's just something I was born with and I'm just going to have to deal with it for my whole career."

Last week, Tim Henman backed Murray to perform at Wimbledon, stating he believes the 23-year-old has got "every chance of winning" the tournament.
