Wimbledon tickets news: Roger Federer cruises past Reister at French Open
28/05/2010
Roger Federer showed fans with Wimbledon tickets he is in impressive form ahead of championships next month.
The world number one cruised through his French Open meeting with German qualifier Julian Reister in straight sets to post a 6-4, 6-0, 6-4 victory.
Reister managed a gutsy opening to the clash, with the first set going with serve for each of the first eight games, but then the Swiss star managed to break and the match proved plain sailing from there on.
There was to be no repeat of the German's first-round heroics - in which he overcame 27th seed Feliciano Lopez - as Federer was able to close out the contest in just over an hour and a half.
He will go on to meet either Stanislas Wawrinka or Fabio Fognini in the final 16 at Roland Garros.
Fans with Wimbledon tickets may recall that Federer recently brushed off suggestions that he is considering quitting the sport in the next couple of years, telling BBC Sport: "I obviously want to do this as long as possible."
