Wimbledon tickets news: Venus Williams through to French Open third round

Venus Williams showed fans with Wimbledon tickets that she is in an impressive vein of form with a clinical victory over Arantxa Parra Santonja at the French Open.

The world number two saw off her Spanish opponent in straight sets in the second round at Roland Garros, winning the clash 6-2, 6-4.

Serena Williams' older sister expressed particular pleasure over the quality of her service game, which she said helped her perform strongly on the majority of the big points that she faced.

She will advance to play Dominika Cibulkova in the third round, a game which is likely to be a trickier affair given that the Slovakian reached the semi-finals of the tournament in 2009.

Despite this, Williams said she plans to concentrate on her own plans regardless of who she faces.

"I'll continue to try to execute my game and not worry really a ton about what my opponent is doing," she said.

Last year, fans with Wimbledon tickets saw the Williams sisters meet in the final of the SW19 tournament, with Serena finishing as the 7-6, 6-2 winner.
