World Cup 2010 news: John Terry needs scan after training ground injury
12/05/2010
Fabio Capello has been given a major World Cup 2010 selection headache after John Terry picked up a foot injury in training.
The knock comes the day after England boss Capello included his former captain in the 23-man squad which he will take to World Cup 2010 this summer.
Although the seriousness of the injury is not yet known, a statement on the Stamford Bridge outfit's official website revealed that the centre-back picked up the blow in training today (May 12th 2010).
"John Terry
has gone to hospital for a precautionary scan on his right foot," the club said. "He left Cobham walking freely in a protective boot and we await the results which are expected on Thursday."
It could open the door for Phil Jagielka to head to World Cup 2010 in his place, after the Everton defender failed to make the initial squad.
Jamie Carragher, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Matthew Upson and Ledley King have already been named in the tour party.
