According to the country's Daily Times newspaper, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not ruled out appearances from the two veterans, who could take their places in the team subject to their availability.
PCB chairman Ijaz Butt claimed that he has already had a phone conversation with Yousuf, who has recently been playing in the Lahore Premier League in his hometown, but the official did not offer any more information.
"Since we have tour games before the Test series against England, they can be considered, but obviously first the selectors and the team management must feel satisfied that they are fit," he said.
Somerset captain Marcus Trescothick recently spoke to the Evening Post to say that Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer could provide a test for England in the upcoming matches.
