Younis Khan 'deserved ODI series recall'
26/08/2010
Moin Khan has expressed disappointment that Younis Khan will not be given the chance to play in front of fans with Lords tickets during the England v Pakistan ODI series.
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper and captain Moin claimed the egos of the national selectors had stood in the way of Younis's selection to the 16-man 50-over and Twenty20 squad.
"I am deeply disappointed with the treatment meted out to Younis by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt and chief selector Mohsin Khan," he was quoted by the Daily Times as saying.
The 38-year, who played 245 one-dayers for his country, added that personal issues should not get in the way of a recall for Younis in the England v Pakistan ODI campaign.
Although Younis has missed out on the series - which comes to Lord's on September 20th 2010 - the PCB did chose to pick Mohammad Yousuf, another veteran batsman, for the squad.
All-rounder Shahid Afridi was also retained as captain.
