Keith Prowse King of Chess in Concert

Keith Prowse Press Release

Keith Prowse is proud to be the official hospitality supplier of Chess in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. On May 12 and 13 the venue will be presenting two breathtaking performances of the re-vamped West End hit with lyrics by multi-award winner Tim Rice and music by Abba’s Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson.

The story of Chess involves a love triangle between two players in two world championships and the woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. This rock production will feature top selling US recording artist, Josh Groban and Broadway sensation, Idina Menzel playing the musical’s two lovers, and Wet Wet Wet’s Marti Pellow playing The Arbter.

Chess, originally a concept album recorded in 1984, generated a number of hit singles before the theatrical version hit the West End in 1986, where it played for three years. The story has been streamlined and will feature a 50-piece orchestra from The City of London Philharmonic, a 100 strong choir, the West End Chorus, some stellar principals and the great organ of the Royal Albert Hall.

Ted Walker, Marketing Manager, Keith Prowse, part of Compass Group said: “We are thrilled to be the official hospitality provider for these special concerts and it’s great to see Chess back on stage in London for the first time in nearly 20 years. The audience are in for a real treat, with big Broadway stars and lyrics and music by West End greats.”

Keith Prowse has a long-standing relationship with the Royal Albert Hall and the exclusive hospitality contract for the event where guests can enjoy refreshments either in a private box or in the stalls. It was Keith Prowse that invented the concept of corporate hospitality and with a history stretching back more than 200 years the company has long been the leader within the entertainment and ticketing industry.
