Jamie Nevin to lead Edgbaston Experience
New appointment seals partnership between Edgbaston and Keith Prowse
Keith Prowse, the UK’s hospitality leader, has announced the appointment of Jamie Nevin as general manager of the Edgbaston Experience.
The Edgbaston Experience represents the joint venture between Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Edgbaston venue and Compass Group, Keith Prowse’s parent company, which has been sealed ahead of the £32 million redevelopment of the Pavilion Stand, set for completion in July 2011.
Jamie will play a vital role in introducing businesses in the Midlands to the world class corporate hospitality options now available through Keith Prowse, Edgbaston’s official corporate hospitality provider. He will also oversee the Edgbaston Experience’s promotion of match-day, non-match day, conference and banqueting services at the ground.
Originally from Co. Clare, Ireland, Jamie has worked across the United Kingdom, Ireland and France on various events, conferences and exhibitions. Previous positions include being on the opening team at Newport Bay Convention Centre at Disneyland Paris, Catering Manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Food and Beverage Director at Southwater Event Group.
Jamie will work closely with Keith Prowse’s Edgbaston team to promote and operate the Jaguar Club, The 1882 Club, Superboxes and The Edgbaston Suite – all part of the new development. The momentum created by the redevelopment and Keith Prowse’s appointment as hospitality provider is building towards this summer’s eagerly anticipated 3rd npower Test Match between England and world ranked number one side, India (Wednesday 10th – Sunday 14th August).
Jamie Nevin, general manager of the Edgbaston Experience said: “For me, the Edgbaston Experience is about the coming together of lovers of cricket, clients, staff and the general public for cricket matchday and non-matchday hospitality, conferencing, events and exhibitions all under one roof. The highly professional Edgbaston Experience team creates a fun and relaxed environment to ensure an outstanding experience to all our customers in a spectacular location.”
Andrew Hodgkins, managing director at Keith Prowse said: “Much like batting on the first day of a Test Match, an effective partnership is crucial to achieving common goals. Jamie will be instrumental in gelling two world class entities, Edgbaston and Keith Prowse, as we raise the bar for corporate hospitality in the Midlands.”
