Keith Prowse recruits cricket royalty for new Players’ Lounge package
Unique hospitality offering includes chance to quiz ECB Chairman of Selectors
Press information: 24 May 2010
Keith Prowse, the UK’s hospitality leader, has joined forces with the Professional Cricketers’ Association to create the new Players’ Lounge at the Kia Oval. Guests will be given the rare opportunity of an audience with the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Chairman of Selectors, Geoff Miller.
The offering will see the cast of cricket stars take part in a series of Question & Answer Sessions and mingle with guests in the lavish hospitality spaces of the John Major Room and Terrace Bar throughout the day.
The most intriguing appearance of all could be from Miller, the key decision maker outside the England dressing room, who is open to be quizzed on selection issues ahead of the winter’s Ashes tour to Australia and 2011 World Cup on the Indian subcontinent.
Companies choosing to entertain in the Players’ Lounge will also have access to a Who’s Who of English cricket, including former England captains Michael Vaughan and Nasser Hussain, legendary fast bowler Darren Gough, and one of the world’s leading cricket broadcasters, Mark Nicholas.
The top-scale hospitality option, which will be launched at the One Day International between England and Australia at the Kia Oval on Wednesday 30th June, has already sold out for the match due to unprecedented demand. Places for the Players’ Lounge at England’s Test match (18th-21st August) and ODI (Friday 17th September) against Pakistan are also set to be extremely popular.
Players’ Lounge package holders will start the day with a luxury brunch buffet, and once play starts are free to relax at the Terrace Bar which will serve fine wines, champagnes and spirits. This informal seating area offers epic views across the ground from a breathtaking open air vantage point. A carefully planned hot and cold buffet will be served at the interval, with afternoon tea to follow in early evening as the day’s action builds up to its conclusion.
Reserved seats can be found just outside the tastefully furnished John Major Room, an exclusive area of the Kia Oval facing one of the grandest Pavilions in world cricket.
Ted Walker, Head of Marketing at Keith Prowse said: “The household names we have chosen to participate in the Players’ Lounge will create a real buzz in the hospitality area and offer a fascinating face-to-face insight. The opportunity to question the ECB Chairman of Selectors is a privilege rarely extended to those outside the national press. We are very excited to be able to offer clients this unique opportunity in conjunction with our friends at the PCA.”
