Play with Tennis Legend Pat Cash at The Speakeasy
25 June - 8 July 2012
The 2012 Championships offers a unique opportunity for guests to meet and learn tips from former champion, Pat Cash. Cash, men’s champion in 1987, has gone on to coach top players, including Greg Rusedski and Mark Philippoussis, as well as becoming a highly regarded tennis commentator and sports personality.
The former champion will join you on court with three or four chosen clients, sharing professional coaching tips specific to each individual’s tennis game. After the coaching session, Pat will join the rest of the guests in the contemporary styled Speakeasy and divulge his thoughts on the day’s play. A three-course lunch will prepare guests for an afternoon on court watching some of tennis’s finest players.
The crowning moment of Pat Cash’s career came at The Championships, Wimbledon in 1987. In a memorable tournament, Pat had already defeated Mats Wilander and Jimmy Connors, before reaching the Wimbledon final. The World Number 1, Ivan Lendl, stood between Pat and his first Grand Slam title. His famous climb through the seats on Centre Court to embrace his family after beating Ivan Lendl in straight sets remains one of the Championships’ most endearing images.
