NatWest 6 Nations

6 nations

England v Wales

England beat Wales 12- 6 in a closely fought game at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday. A pair of first-half tries from Jonny May made it two Six Nations wins from two for England as they stretched their unbeaten home run to 15 games.

Scotland v France

Scotland put defeat by Wales behind them to overcome France 32 - 26 at Murrayfield and revive their Six Nations campaign. Greig Laidlaw kicked six penalties to guide the hosts to victory.

Ireland v Italy

Ireland ran in eight converted tries to secure a bonus-point victory over Italy and make it two wins from two in the 2018 Six Nations Championship. Centre Robbie Henshaw and winger Jacob Stockdale both crossed twice with the others by Conor Murray, Bundee Aki, Keith Earls and skipper Rory Best.

Premier League

premier league

Tottenham extended their lead over local rivals Arsenal with a 1-0 victory in the North London derby at Wembley Stadium. The match set a new Premier League record attendance of over 83,000. Harry Kane's 23rd league goal of the season was enough to secure the three points. Elsewhere in the race for Champions League qualification, Liverpool were 2-0 victors over relegation threatened Southampton, whilst Manchester United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to Newcastle. The Red Devil's defeat allowed Manchester City to open up a 16-point lead at the top of the table, following an emphatic 5-1 win against Leicester - a match that saw Sergio Aguero score four times. We now enter a two-week break from Premier League action but when it returns, hospitality guests at the likes of Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge can expect some crucial match-ups at both ends of the table.

Spurs 1 0 Arsenal
Everton 3 1 Crystal Palace
Stoke 1 1 Brighton
Swansea 1 0 Burnley
West Ham 2 0 Watford
Man City 5 1 Leicester
Huddersfield 4 1 Bournemouth
Newcastle 1 0 Man Utd
Southampton 0 2 Liverpool

Winter Olympics

winter olympics

The quadrennial Winter Olympics have begun in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The opening ceremony welcomed athletes from across the globe. Highlights included the Bermudan team wearing shorts and the Tongan flag bearer going shirtless in what were sub-zero conditions. Finally the host nation entered under the unified flag of the North and South nations - a landmark moment of political and sporting significance.
