The Concept of Rosewater Pavilion

February 26, 2019

Taking its name from the Ladies’ Singles Trophy, the Venus Rosewater dish, the design has been inspired by the underlining statement of AELTC; ‘tennis in an English Garden’. We are creating a space that is open, light and will blend into its environment. From the very first touchpoint, entering the grounds at Gate 10, guests walk into a private walled garden with trees and planting in keeping with this iconic venue.

After entering The Rosewater Pavilion through a hidden staircase, guests are greeted by our reception and concierge team who are on hand to assist with any requests throughout the day. At this point, guests will be looking across to Centre Court through the bi-fold doors along the frontage of the building. The natural light, uninterrupted view and smell of fresh cut grass will naturally place you at The Championships, Wimbledon.

As guests walk down the stairs, they will be able to see directly through the bar and into a double height lounge area where a grand piano will sit setting the mood and pace for the day. There are plenty of seating options available from the bar and lounge to the outdoor areas – all to allow the guest to choose the experience they want. Space has been well thought through to ensure guests enjoy an exceptional experience.

Subtle nods of tennis are placed throughout the space of iconic match moments from Championships past.

The private suites are an oasis for customers who want an exclusive space. Muted colours give a relaxing feel with the touches of gold referring to the historic trophy. Each of the suites has its own terrace, with high walls to create a private area. Credenzas hide the functional practicalities of operating the suite but are sympathetically designed to blend seamlessly into the environment. Mirrors flank the walls to enhance the feeling of spaciousness.

Every element of the Rosewater Pavilion is carefully thought through and designed with tennis in an English garden at its core. These touches are most evident in the floral decoration and the use of elderflower sprigs in the cocktails.
