With less than three months until The Championships, Wimbledon, MIX Global, the bar and events specialists charged with the smooth running of the bars in The Lawn share some previews from the cocktail line-up that will help create ‘the perfect serve’ for guests.
Light & Breezy
Within the re-imagined, cutting-edge restaurant the team of international mixologists are set to deliver more of the award-winning quality that guests expect from a hospitality experience in The Lawn (previously The Gatsby Club). Expect bright, fresh and summery flavours with a luxury, playful twist. Try the all new ‘Light & Breezy’ made with BACARDI Carta Blanca rum, house fresh ginger syrup, delicately balanced with MARTINI Riserva Speciale Ambrato, cold-pressed pineapple and cracked black pepper.
“It’s all about finding the balance between what’s new and exciting, and tried and tested crowd pleasers at prestigious, large-scale occasions such as this”, commented MIX Global founder and MD Huw Lloyd, a veteran of the UK bar and events industry. “We’re serving delicious cocktails to over a thousand guests within The Lawn each day. As well as the array of bespoke cocktails we’ve designed for the event we’ll ensure a full range of ‘classics’ such as PATRON Margarita’s and classic BACARDI Daiquiri’s are available on request.”
- 35ml BACARDI Carta Blanca light rum
- 5ml Fresh pressed ginger juice
- 50ml Cold-pressed pineapple juice
- 20ml Freshly squeezed lime juice
- 20ml Simple syrup (1:1)
- 20ml MARTINI Riserva Speciale Ambrato
Glass: High-Ball Ice: Cubed
Method: Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice cubes

With every aspect of the whole day in mind, we’re keeping some cocktail ABVs low and the drinks long and refreshing. Less alcohol doesn’t mean less flavour, in this bold yet sophisticated reinvention, the ‘Summer Americano’. An aperitivo to suit the occasion, it’s enhanced with a hint of succulent fresh strawberry, in perfect contrast to the MARTINI Riserva Speciale Bitter 1872. This is a drink served long over lots of ice with a splash of soda, a dash of pechaud bitters and finished with fresh orange zest.
We gathered some insights from the good people of Martini to find out how they capture some of those iconic Torino flavours. Beppe Musso, Martini master blender added: “The art of the bitter aperitivo is to create a complete and rounded sensation of bitterness in the mouth. This is achieved by our incredible master herbalist Ivano Tonutti slowly building up layers of different styles of bitter botanicals, one by one for a more complex profile, until all are beautifully playing together like an orchestra creating an uplifting melody.”
- 15ml MARTINI Riserva Speciale Bitter 1872,
- 15ml MARTINI Riserva Speciale Ambrato
- 15ml MARTINI Riserva Speciale Rubino
- 15ml House fresh strawberry syrup
- 2 Dashes Pechaud bitters
- Top with Soda water
Glass: High-Ball Ice: Cubed
Method: Build in glass with ice, stir and top with soda, zest orange
Garnish: fresh strawberries & orange zest
As the day goes on and (hopefully) the sun keeps shining, the good times continue with a variety of spritz style serves. Think Riviera chic with an oversized wine glass and an elegant blend of GREY GOOSE vodka with fresh cold-pressed watermelon juice, decadent spices and kaffir lime leaves, this is ‘La Perfection’.
To ensure every single guest can enjoy the day just as much as anyone else, some of these original concoctions are also available served without the base spirit. The ‘house mocktails’ are available throughout the day and include the watermelon cooler, elderflower fizz and tropical punch.
Later, afternoon tea is the order of the day, and we’ll be back to report some incredibly exciting new innovations from our friends at BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin on that note very soon…
